Vietnam DIY amplifier National contest 2015

Good day everybody.
I am also member of http://www.vnav.vn as biggest audio/visual-forum in Vietnam today, it is very proud to introduce about annual national contest for DIY amplifier for huge tubes, which is funny named as "SUMO contest" due to big size of tubes.

As you may know, this kind of contest have been started since 2005 and 10th contest just been held in Hanoi last Saturday, Dec/04/2015.

The general rule/requirement for such contest are :

- Minimum Plate dissipation : 60W per tube
- General THD : ≤ 4% at 50W ( PushPull ) and ≤ 6% at 15W ( SE )
- Band with : 20 ÷ 20kHz ± 2dB at 1W
- Noise : ≤ 5mV/ 8 Ohms ( non income signal )
- Output impedance : 8 Ohms
- Method of test : Blind test

( in fact we also have other annual contest for smaller tubes i will let you know latter )

There are 23 members registered to participate however, only 14 amplifiers are despatched ( may be our rules are too seriously ? 🙂 )

All candidates have been tested very carefully to match the rules also not destroy expensive loudspeaker😎

We have beautiful receptionist at the gate but also serious examiners inside, they are recognized as the best audiophile in Vietnam today.

Around 250 members to come for listening, not only old man like you and me but also ladies and kids

Behind backdrop, technician team were very hard work, because all amplifiers are very heavy, yes very heavy and ... hot

After 04 hours of blind test, now all candidates were appeared

Finally, the winner is : 845 SE made by Ssass, the member from Ho Chi Minh city

Not easy to describe the disappointed from others, especially Push pull fan who won most recent contest for a couple years, but no matter what , let's party

Even i still having a lots picxxx to share but don't wanna be spammmmer

So, there is the fact that this kind of contest are recently become very rare , we would like to take this opportunity to invite all Tube amp Diyers and fan family from everywhere in the world to participate next SUMO contest 2016 in Ho Chi Minh city ( we intent to organize in Dec/2016 ).
