Hi I was wondering if anyone was interested in building video goggles. I realise that this isnt a projector, but there was nowhere else to put it. Please reply with what you think....
heh... i was thinking of stripping down video goggles to make a projector... what is the resolution on those puppies?
You would need special drivers on your computer so you can send slightly offset images to your left and right eye so you can get stereoscopic vision. It would be easier to reverse engineer an existing VR headset system than it would be to build one from the ground up, including the software drivers needed.
the resolution of those screens would probably be the same as your video camera's view finder.
isn't stereoscopic vision when the "video / images" are recorded with two cameras giving you true offset. If you just pump the same image to your left and right eye wouldn't you l get the same effect as watching tv?
I've been into anaglyphs for a while (red-blue 3D images and videos) and thats how they work, by using two offset images.

correct apo. however in the world of computers, you can program a graphics rasterizer to output 2 offset images, so you don't need any fancy 2 camera setup.
