Audio can be converted using Audacity(free). You have to export the file to the format you want.

I've been using AVC Free Video Converter, Any Video Converter Freeware: Convert any video to MP4/WMV/MP3 for mobile devices for videos ... it handles audio aswell. Just check if it suites for you.
