anybody point me in the direction of circuit diagrams for video amplifier.what i'm after is something to feed both a monitor and a projector from a p.c.
would a basic op amp buffer work for the video signals and a ttl buffer for the sync signals or is there more to it than that.
cheers hippy

what exactly are your plans? Which kind of equipment your planning to use?

What i can say is you càn split a digital (VGA)-signal on different monitors. For an analoge signal, this works with audio but not for video. For that reason you'll need some sort of framestore. A videoeditor for example with a couple(mostly 2 or 3) outputs. But if you want to work with a computermonitor and a analoge device you just use a tv-out card of the computer i would say

As long as you are happy with the same resolution and refresh rates on both displays, it should work.
TTL is fine for the sync signals.
For the video, you need high bandwidth opamps. 100MHz or so.
You need to choose a type that is stable at x2 gain. That is because you will loose 1/2 the opamps output voltage in the 75 ohm "send" resistors.
Don't forget to terminate the input of the amplifier with 75 ohms too.
If you e-mail me, I'll send you a schematic, or I might post when I'm home.

Have you thought of the alternatives?
A twin head video card.
A second video card.
A ready made distribution amp?

themadhippy,

If you decide to build your own, heres a schematic for reference.

There are high speed opamps with 3 in a package which would be convenient.

If you build it, and there is some instablility, as long as your layout is sensible, add a 5 to 10pF cap between the opamps + input and ground.

Good luck,
