Vibrating cutter...any available

I am in need, well not exactly me, but my colleague wants to purchase a cutter to cut acrylic without heating it (acrylic)considerably. The water and other coolants cannot be used as it contaminates the sample (sediment in this case).

The unit should be hand-held and powered by mains, 50Hz.

Does anybody know of such a product.

Looks like I was not clear enough...

The acrylic tube, in which the sample is collected needs to be cut, along the length, without disturbing the sample, physically and chemically and by keeping the sample on a worktable. The sample cannot be moved from the table after opening up, as it gets disturbed.

Help please.

How about an oscillating saw? A quadrant of saw blade that vibrates with a very small amplitude and does not cut your fingers.
Presumably an acrylic cutting blade can be purchased.

Hi!

Use Jigsaw, but before cuting line mark where you want to cut. apply packing tape(transparent)1-2 layer.Use medium tooth saw(not wood, not metal). The tape working like cooler, I, don't know how, but worked wery good.

I've seen these used in cutting open plastic enclosures without melting the plastic. Leaves a nice clean cut as wide as the blade.

1: Use glass tube instead, crack the tube in a press arrangement.

2: any sawing action has friction and can melt the acrylic. perhaps a small, sharp circular saw with an automatic feeder to cut at the correct rate.
