VGA to LCD panel cables

greetings,
I just acquired a infocus powerview 950 panel only. no power supply, but i rigged one up, thanks to the posts on this site!! then i come to find out that a pin in the cableing is broken. therefore, i am asking if anyone can help me find one.
It is a VGA (15 pin d-sub) to LCD (25 pin d-sub) to MONITER (15 pin d-sub). I dont know if there is a standard for the LCD panels, but the moniter and VGA are universal, i believe.? I acquired a cable ( an extra from an Infocus 5000fx) but since the panel only supports 640x480, the cable and computor configuration does not suppot resolutions projected by the Powerview 950 @1024x768. thereby leading me to believe that the cable must be compatible with XGA/SVGA, compared to the lower res. EGA/VGA. im relatively new to video, but i am an audio sound engineer, and this is my first post....thanks everbody!!

Would it be possible to post some pics of the cable and the damaged pin? It sounds like you could repair it, any good electronics store should stock those connectors. Also I find it hard to believe that the 5000fx cable would display no image at all. If it isn't up to the task of running XGA, I would expect image degradation/ghosting instead of no signal. However, I'm not familiar with either projector, so I could easily be wrong.

just got back from a 200,000 sq. ft. electronics store, and i could not find a db15 to db25 cable. no adapters...nothing. I searched the net...nothing.

---As for the existing cable, the problem was ....on the db25 end, on the bottom row, one pin was folded over. With a needlenose plier I managed to fold it back into its original position, right at the point of snapping. I carefully hooked it up and got a proper image @ XGA resolution.
--- The problem now becomes functionality, being that i cannot unscrew the db25 from the LCD panel (the pin will undoubtedly break), rendering its portability useless (doesnt fit in ATA-flight case). The cable is now very fragile and I anticipate, it will break soon. A replacement is needed.
---I can either make a replacement using pre-fabed wire and connectors, but i really need the cable to be bulletproof, because i am using this rig on the road with my musical group!! Hence, the factory molded wire is a + ( oh yeah, schematics and diagrams for wiring the cable would be great!!!)
---Ill try for pictures soon also model #, but just to note, it has two hefty filters in the signal path (on the cable)
---I did get picture with the older cable, but as i siad, the computor only recognized and therefore supported 640x480 upto 800x600. ( i did get picture, but canvas was small and images were big). The cable that i temporarily mended is the factory cable that came with the Powerview 950, and it was all good.

---The computor used for image source is an Apple G4 running OSX jaquar, supporting monitor resolutions from 640x480 to 2048x1536. The older cable only supported the aforementioned resolutions. the factory cable supported ALL available OSX resolutions EXCEPT 640x480. Dont know why? inquiries please!

Just to clarify, cable goes as follows:
[videocard] <= [db15]============[db25] => [lcd]
and the db25 end is in need of repair. correct?

If you have a multimeter and some experiance soldering, I would just repair the cable. A new db25 end and a d-sub hood should be available at that electronics store. If you can find the wiring diagram, thats great; however you don't really need it since you have the cable. Once you cut the end off the cable, use the multimeter to figure out what goes where. The hood, though not as good as factory molding, will make for a fairly durable cable. It should be easy to fix, just time consuming.
