Probably this is the best place to ask...I would like to interface my PC, an old 486, to my TV to play some Mp3's or something..and if it works out good...I might consider getting a better PC and playing videos on it...wonder if there is some kinda circuit that I can easily build to interface the VGA port...to the composite video in on my TV...I dun have SCART...and those BNC type inputs...so that's out of the question...any ideas anyone??
You need a converter box. I can't quite remember, but I think they run around $100. I don't think there's any easy or cheap way to build one yourself.
If you get a new computer, most new video cards have TV Out. My $50 Nvidia card has TV Out, I use it all the time.

Here's a generic-crap model for $50. Be warned, something cheap like this probabbly won't give you the results you want. And BTW, if all you want to do is play mp3s you don't need a VGA convertor, you just need a cable like this to convert the headphone jack on your PC to two RCA jacks to plug into your sepakers.
In my opinion, if you still have a 486 you shouldn't mess around with any of this, you should put all your money towards a new PC. You need it.
