hi!!!!
I have a projector far from my computer. Today I'm using a DIY s-video cable (10m long)
That works good, but I need to have a special resolution (848x480) and i cant do that on s-video.
So, I need to make a long cable that must be component or VGA.
how can I make that cable?
VGA to VGA or VGA to COMPONENT.
THANKSssssssssss

First: I’ve tried to make a monitor extension (even using 3 coaxial cables for R, G & B signals) and the results.... well, let’s say I’m very picky. It worked well at XGA (1024x768), but was something temporary till I could find a proper extension, locally.
Second: a VGA (640x480) cable won’t cut it. This is a screenshot using one. In addition the image flickered and was dim at 60Hz; better at 75Hz but still poor.
What are you looking for is a SVGA or XGA cable. It’s double or even triple shielded and has ferrite rings to damp electronic interferences.
I’ve paid less than 20$ for a 10m one and my point is: go out and buy one 🙂. At that price it’s not worth to DIY-it.
