Ok I know I am probably going to get a load of flak but, I am building a pair of two way speakers. I have ATC sb75-375 low end , some TAD 4001 compression drivers and a pair of smiths horns.
The problem is I dont want to build cabinets that are the best part of 700mm wide to accomodate the horns, and am toying with the idea of mounting them vertically. this would give me a pattern of about 60degrees horizontally and 140 degrees vertically.Any thoughts would be appreciated. I know that aesthetically they will be great and being in a smallish room I think the horizontal dispersion will be acceptable. Klipsh had a cab with vertically mounted horns and I see that JBL have recently brought out a system like this also.
