Hanclinto, i just want to say great job keeping this thread on topic and hawkknite: I have no clue why you are talking about halogen bulbs in this thread? I do not want to be the forum troll sort of speak, but please try to post related topics. I will tell you those lights will probably be the worst investment you ever made. For about 115 bucks, you can buy a compleate 39,000 lumin Metal Halide setup. And for $60 for can get a 12,000 lumin fluorux setup, but it will make virtually no heat. So please, read the forums and find the info you need, and if you want to make a modified backlight projector, please feel free to post.

Sorry, my bad... it's not halogen. Its prolly a very cool running light.

Thanks for the input,

After reviewing the specs they had, it only has

about 5800+ lumen, not quit enough but I like the way

the bulb is setup, maybe for a 5" LCD as a direct back light.?

anyway thanks for the feed back.

I'll try not to tie up the thread😀

What is so illegal and bad about this Mr. Moderator?

-verbose

I didn't see whether or not anyone replied to this...

It's dangerous for the same reason you should disconnect the negative terminal on a car battery before working on the electronics there, just more power. I haven't kept up to date on wiring codes in the past couple years, and don't remember most of them, but it's probably illegal because you have a permanent hot flowing through the circuit. The hot wire must ALWAYS be the line that is fused and then broken with a switch. As far as common sense is concerned, it's the safest way to do it.

I have not, but it is in the works. I am currenting investing my time and money in to a diy web site. I do not want to talk much more about that here. Anyway, i will impliment this design eventualy. When you put the lens over the lcd you will see what I mean. All you have to do after that is modify the backlight, and put a mirror over the lens at a 45 degree angle... there you go. If you could, take some pictures when you place the lens on the lcd, that would be great. Just so people can get an idea of what to expect. Thanks and good luck.

this forum is extremely rich with content and extrememly poor in organization. I for one would like to see all this stuff Organized sections and subsections...

OHP
- Projector bodies
- Panels
- etc.

PROJECTOR Projects
- LCD Panels
- etc.

LIGHTING
- etc.

You get the idea....

I set up a test forum just like the way you sugessted. I may keep it. This forum is very rich in content, but lack organization. My thing is, i do not want to steal there members sort of speek, but i do not thikn jason the founder cares to much for video. I am not really sure what to do at this point. Make a forum... not... I have one setup, just have to add the content.
