Anyone know where I can get veneer in Canada other tha Home Depot. Im looking for 2-ply or NBL.
Thanks,
Jeff
Thanks,
Jeff
Jeff try Windsor Plywood. There is a chain of these stores in BC,they supply exotic woods and veneers.
Windsor in Burnaby did have lots of veneer on hand. Not any longer.I have talked to the owners son as he is in Fleetwood alot of the time and they are reducing the inventory as they just do not have the demand any longer for the large selection of veneer.
So I too have been looking else were.
For the time I have ordered a few from Tape-ease.To try.
Brain says this is all he uses. The NBL.
So I am giving it a shot.
If you come acroos any other spot please post it.
Thanks Al

Well, here in Quebec, we have several different sources for getting wood & hardware :
Reno-Depot
RoNa
Lee Valley is a good source when your're looking for fine wood (rosewood, etc...)
I hope this helps !

Try making friends with a cabinet shop. They have acces to Richelieu which is a place where I have bought alot of veneer. The other place is Robert Bury. Both of these places are pro only but they are worth a shot. They buy their veneer from a place called cedan. You may be able to go to Home Depot and find their address on some of their 2 by 8 pieces rolled up. Cedan is in or around Montreal. Hope this helps, and if you hit any brick walls e-mail me.

Thanks guys. I will see what these sources have to offer. I did check the Lee Valley website previous to my original post. They had no veneer on their site. Guess I will have to take a drive to Toronto and take a look around the store.

I would imagine that LV would be a little over-priced, as they are with certain things...
Francois,
Could you provide me with some info on that company? Tel number or adress would be greatly appreciated.

Exotic Woods in Burlington (www.exotic-woods.com) has paper backed veneers but I have no experience with them. I read good things about the 2-ply veneer sold by Tapeease (www.tapeease.com) in the US so just bought 2 4'x8' sheets of 2-ply cherry from them and had it shipped to Toronto. It's expensive, (2 sheets ended up around $300CDN landed) but it VERY high quality stuff that is easy to work with and gave me great results - highly recommended.
Ive attached a link to my Altec 604 cabinets that shows the build, veneering, staining and results.
