Vanderveen Output Transformers 2100-SSCR-PPS Plitron

Hello tomlang,

Great to see these nice OPTs that not only has excellent specs but also has independent UL windings.

Quote: 2k to 4 ohm (4k to 8 ohm)

Are you sure the 8 ohm secondary load will reflect 4K primary impedance?

Just a friendly note for your ref. Please check if my message is correct.

Points:
Reflected impedance: By connecting an 8-ohm speaker to the 4-ohm secondary tap, the reflected impedance to the primary side is 8kΩ.

Primary side: This is quite a bit higher than the 2kΩ primary impedance the transformer is designed for, which will result in a mis-matching operation of the amplifier.

However, all the related datasheets/specs do not mention 4k to 8 ohm.

Regards,
Joe
