Hi.
I recently get valve preamp with point to point connections and I cant figure out which valves been used there . Socket is 9ba but filament and high voltage are on different pins then for example 12ax7 . Psu give 170v dc and 6.3v dc but is adjustable and going for over 300v dc with pot . I've build few amps , preamps solid states , but never did anything with tubes and I'm interested to give a try . According to parts been used there it should be good preamp .I've drawed circutry but not sure I've did it right 🙂
If anyboby know that circut please advice .

This tube, 12AX7/ECC83 has high amplification, and is perhaps not a suitable tube for a line amplifier/preamplifier? Can't quite understand the circuit, but could it be a China amplifier curcuit?
The tube seems to be soviet 6n3p
The schematic is like this with different part values

Yes , it is like that . Pin5 is the shield separating the two triodes
If you use DC for filament one heater pin could be connected to ground .

Thank you . I just order 2 of them and will report how it works . Best regards
Hi. It took me some time to write here results . Preamp sound nice with 6n3p , but it burn me transistor in amp . I find out stepped attenuator make a pop when turning volume up and down . Also it have more gain then my boz preamp . Thank you guys for help anyway.
Sounds like someone didn't use the right type of switch.I find out stepped attenuator make a pop when turning volume up and down
I used some contact cleaner and is fine now , then order set of transistors from mexico in any case . If I use under the shower is it have to be certain input on?Sounds like someone didn't use the right type of switch.

huggygood said that, but once you cleaned it and it works, then you should be ok. The question is will it stay because that is a pretty cheap switch compared to the one from Grayhill I would use.
It's a joke actually but I must be the only one who understands it, so forget it.To be sure, you have to try it in the shower
Do you think I was serious about input?? 🙂It's a joke actually but I must be the only one who understands it, so forget it.

Hi . I want to share how preamp looks now and have another question . Psu gone and I want to replace it , but not sure what to use to get best results . What yours recommendations for good psu ?

gets lots of hum , looks like psu board have a lot of accidents before , lots of bad soldering , missing tracks . I've been able to fix it today but expecting more problems coming . Its solid state psu .
