Sometimes is pays to go backwards to go forwards. There are some great primers for tube technology on the web, or fork out for a book, many here swear by Morgan Jones 'Building Valve Amplifiers'.

My way in to the hobby was researching for a PCB kit where I had the freedom to source my own components, and the parts were not exotic or overly expensive. I discovered the Tubelab SPP (very well supported on this site), used inexpensive Toroidy transformers, matched set of Russian 6P14P-EV tubes, and got to understand the important points of construction and a particular topology.

I make a modular amp that might suit you...
It uses a 120V secondary so the transformer is cheap. Can also use off the shelf power toroids for the OPTs (two per channel, interleaved).
You can use almost any tubes you want for the power stage.

My entry into tube technology was an educative toy that my parents gave me as a Christmas present in 1970. It contained the car battery pentode EF98. Then I started reading books extensively before I build my first tube amplifier about four years later.
Best regards!

I think you have to do some donkey work yourself so that you at least have the concepts under your belt. Scatter gun questions trigger long directionless threads that are not fun to participate in.I am totally new to valve amps and don't know the basics.
