A local auction site is selling a Valve Audio Genesis pre-amplifier. Apparently the new price was in the range of 4'000 - 5'000 US$, no idea about its age, probably need to replace a few capacitors. The product still seems to be available : Valve Audio - Integrated amplifiers, Pre-amplifier / Power Amplifier combos, Dual Mono block Power Amplifiers, Valve Phono Stages
Would you buy that kind of used equipment ? and for what max price ?
Some words about me : electronic engineer having worked 25+ years in software and restarted building tube-amps. I'm missing a good, reference pre-amp right now and that one could be the missing piece. I have the equipment and knowledge to fix that one (well, some forum help will be welcome).

This would probably represent a decent value for a budding audiophile. Certainly not reference quality.
Otoh, nice case and a pair of free heatsinks, should you veer towards solid state one day 🙂
