Didn't read all the thread but it scratches me the wrong way.

I would connect each OpAmp output to its own inverting input, period, and then mix outputs with individual resistors, leaving said resistors outside the NFB loop.

I can't agree 100% with that. If you need a zero impedance output, then this is a solution.

But with lower output impedance, which might matter if needing to drive low impedance loads - think damping factor...

How about just add a fairly large sized capacitors to the feedback node so that its in-audio-band would allow for a low output impedance while its effect when going towards DC would diminish so that any DC offset wouldn't cause any high current draw and overheating.
