Using unused primary taps on PT?

I have a 280VA main PT with 120v, 110v, and 100v taps on the primary. Using the 120V tap.

Would it be possible/advisable to use the unused 110v primary tap to apply a lower voltage to another PT (say a 35VA filament transformer?)

Effectively using the primary as an autotransformer…

Or will I risk burning out the windings between the taps?

Be sure to fuse the small transformer separately.

As long as you stay within the rating of the winding total. Don’t put a huge load on it in other words.
