My Sonic Impact is due to arrive today. What do you think of using something like this to provide the little SI vs using wall wart power or SLA battery. I know SLA battery power would sound best but I am not into charge and recharge the thing everyday.

Has anyone tried something like this yet. Thanks.

That looks like it would work, as long as the power is clean. Maybe a bit overkill, tho. You basically have a 12V DC supply with battery backup. Do you need the backup?
You might be able to find a good 12V supply for less money.

I dont need the back up but it said "regulated power" so I was thinking it may sound better than conventional wall wart power adapter. Maybe not..... Thanks.

It probably will. Most wall-warts are nasty, no regulation and very poor filtering. Just hate to see you pay for the battery backup when you don't need it.
A good 2A regulated supply is just what you need for the S.I. The one you've shown us also puts out 13.7 volts so you'll get more power, but it may be a little high for the chip. I would also suggest a heat sink for the chip.
Check out some of the other threads about modding the S.I. Better caps and connectors make a BIG difference in the sound quality.
Happy modding!
