Hi,
I have a dxs12 sub, a dxr12 on top, and an MR18 digital mixer. It sounds great, but I hate setting up the sub because of the extra work involved. I am just a solo musician or duo most of the time. But sometimes I do need to go louder for a duo with electronic kit.
So my question is..
Can I just use one aux send from the mr18 mixer instead of the stereo L and R? So I would just plug into one input on the sub instead of two? and then go from the sub with just one output to one input on the top?
This would save me having to unravel another lead (and pack it up afterwards), plus it would save me having to use an adaptor to join the two XLRs into one (I currently join the two outputs from the sub into one, to go into just the one top, not two)
Not only would this save me time, but it is an absolute mess of cables behind my sub by the time I've got everything plugged in. It inevitably gets tangled up and is a pain to pack up, so anything tips to make the process easier would be appreciated. I'm considering getting the eon one tower, but not sure that would be enough for louder gigs..
Anyway, on topic, can I save on cables by using one mono output instead of stereo?
Thanks

Yes, yes, and yes. You could also just go from the L or R main output into the sub and then on to the top because in your case everything is mono anyway there is no Left or Right. So my question is..

Not sure why you were doing that.. it is totally unnecessary.plus it would save me having to use an adaptor to join the two XLRs into one (I currently join the two outputs from the sub into one, to go into just the one top, not two)
