I have built my projector out of mdf (wel lstill in progress) and I was reading on a other website that its important that MDF is sealed so it does not give off dangrous fumes ???
And when heated it can give off even more fumes
I have looked at some stuff which is painted onto the mdf to seal it
My question is if i sprayed ontop of it using spray paint would it just peal off with the heat?
And how dangrous is the fumes it gives off??
I did a search but couldnt find anything relating to this.

Hay there nick,
I used to work on cars and have a lot of frends who are into the modding thing where they spend ££££ on this, But one thing i remember is that car part shops sell spray paint for engine parts that are heat resistent you should get the coulor you want there, If you have a shop near you pop in and ask about them.
Hope this helps you out.

MDF is made with formaldehyde resins. Here's a link if you want to do more reading on it. http://www.ohiotoxicmold.com/formaldehyde.htm
I have just been looking into the MDF business and i remember when i first powered my projector up I had a headache shortly after...dont know if this was because of the large screen and sitting quite close, but when a freind came round the other day, 30 mins later he said he had a headache.
I read that MDF dust can cause this but my mfd is sealed (might be gaps 😱)
Could this be the cause?
I am quite worried now

I've never felt sick or even light headed working with MDF. Mostly the work I do with it is just cutting, hole drilling etc... which creates alot of sawdust. But sometimes I burn the scraps with other wood outside in a bonfire. Never gotten a headache from that... I also have ground off the ends of screws that are sticking out of MDF which causes the screw shaft to heat up and often makes the wood around it smoke a bit.
