using input selector switch

Hello,
Today i dropped an Elma selector switch after soldering so it broke.
I have a tube line preamp with an output transformer and before the AVC there needs be a selector switch with 2 or 3 positions.
I found a nice Cole 2 deck switch with 12 positions but there is no possibility to add a stop.
Can i just use 3 positions to switch between riaa phono preamp and one or two line level sources and leave the other positions just like they are not there?
I checked it is a non-shorting or break before make type.
Greetings, Eduard
P.s could putting two positions for each source in parallel be an advantage in signal levels are low and contact resistance important?

Hello,
But for a non shorting selector that would not be necessary i presume.
So just wire the non used positions in series and connect the end to gnd nearby. There will be ground nearby because there are no input connectors but the wires go directly to the selector with a proper strain relief.
And parallel positions to get a theoratically better contact?
Greetings, Eduard and thanks so far

Hello,
I will see if i can parallel one or more sources.
And then connect the non used positions like a chain of pearls, starting at nr 4 and ending at nr 14 from there to the gnd of the nearby cable coming from one of the source.
The eyelets will ease the process.
Greetings, Eduard
