I'm a newbie to speaker building. I had a thought to build a home theater speaker set for a small to mid size room. I thought of buying an cheap set of home theater speakers like in the attachment (note price is in aussie dollars so they are cheap for set) and gutting them, using the cabinets and putting quality drivers crossovers etc in them? Is this good idea and worthwhile? Will this give me better quality speakers at a cheaper price?
I figure the price for the set of five speakers is pretty just for the cebinets themselves. Any thoughts or considerations?
