I want to reduce the speed of a model electric plane motor. Is there something I can put inline with the motor to cut the battery power to the motor? Battery is 8.4V AND 300- 500mAh.The controller will vary the speed with my input of pushing the lever but I want to make a variable or permanent change to the motor so it can't go toooo fast. Thanks Ron

It's the motor rating you/we need to know, the battery capacity is irrelevant. You can reduce the voltage to an unknown small motor with a string of 1N4001 diodes in one of the leads; they'll carry up to 1A and drop about 0.8V per diode.
