Using a horn without a crossover

I want to set up some sound outside for Halloween and have 2 old JBL horns I pulled out of the speakers. If i run them without a crossover at lower levels will I damage them? Thanks in advance.

Why take the risk
A simple quickly done crossover could be a small cap in series with + terminal

Pretty busy week only going to use them for a couple of hours

You still need at least a cap -- unless you want to let the smoke out of them.

What's a recommended setup for this? A diagram and part list will do good.

A cap in series with the red terminal of the horn. Google any 1st order on-line crossover calculator. Punch in the target frequency and the impedance of the horn (at that frequency preferrred) and it will spit out a starting value.
