Hi all!. I have a DIY Pass F5 that i loooooooooove, and would like to add a simple headphone jack. I do not know what headphones i will use yet, so something pretty universal, driven directly from the spkrs terminals.
I need to add a pair of quality resistors right?.
What value and type of resistors would you use?,
the amp is not turbocharged😉
Merry Christmas to all!

This might be useful:
Headphone Adaptor for Power Amplifiers
I did something like that with a chip amp many years ago and it worked fine.

For reasons of better quality (no additional contact) I would not use switch SW1. Extra load from resistor network won't matter output of F5.
Yes i understand this but, if you want to listen to music at night, you have to un-plug the speakers!.For reasons of better quality (no additional contact) I would not use switch SW1. Extra load from resistor network won't matter output of F5.
This may sound a bit weird but the type of resistors can make an ENORMOUS difference to the sound via this pad - from the 'best detail' metal films to the 'most analogue' carbons, if you view it like that
There's a lot of different permutations with a 'T-pad' attenuator and naturally, these also will produce different results with the wide variety of 'phones and musical tastes
I use a balanced version of this attenuator with my k701s (AKGs) as a quality tester with amps like the F5, currently fitted with Koa metal films and handmade Manganins - a bit extreme perhaps but ...
