Uses for spare J74/J74 Stereo Differential Kit

Hello All,

I have a spare set of the J74/J74 Stereo Differential Kit
Transistors left over from my Aleph J build. I was looking around on the DIY Store and saw that the BA-1 gain stage front end uses these as well, and the BA-1 boards can also be used standalone as a pre-amplifier. Has anyone built one for this purpose? How much gain will it provide? I've been reading the BA-1 thread and haven't come across any figures.

Also looking for another project that I may be able to use these in... other than another Aleph J. Although that wouldn't be such a bad thing 🙂

You could buy LSK170s to match the 4 LSJ74s you have and use in different amplifiers, for example: F4, F5, F6, M2.

Thanks for your suggestions Grimberg. I hadn't read through all of the other BOM's so I wasn't aware that these Jfets could be used in the other amps. Not quite ready for an other amp build yet, but I keep it in mind. Thx!

I have a lot of 2sk170 with different ids values, if you want send me a pm with the idss of your j74's and I could spare matching 170's for the same price I paid, about 3$ each if I remember correctly.
