Is this a somewhat challenged translation for "leave pin 4 floating"? Or do folks ground pin 4?

you leave it floating... or if you’re adventurous, you can drive that pin with the output. That reduces the effective nonlinear capacitances and improves hf distortion by an order of magnitude.
That's kind of funny. I was just playing with replacing the VAS CCS with a bootstrap for the same reason....
However, my 2SJ109s are cascoded (44V rails); I assume the internal dimensions are such that I still have to pay attention to the break-down voltage on the substrate?
