i need a converter from my laptop usb ---> to other digital outputs - e.g. spdif
my actually DAC has a lot of digital inputs but just anlaog outputs. i want to go with spdif in some tests amps and not over analog...

i want to avoid to install every test amp over usb interface on my laptop. so my idea is to have one converter (one installation) and so i can connect this to all test amps over spdif.

i run my music over Tidal and Yplay or Foobar and Jplay directly out of the USB port and then to the DAC. actually i have no idea what is possible to have topSQ and low price. i go trough a lot of Xmos boards but i have no idea...
I am using this SMSL USB bridge right now on Daphile. No problem so far. This may be out of the topic. I replaced all the SOT-23 regulators with better ones (ADP151) in order to verify the effect of Ian's FIFO. The result is that I couldn't tell the difference between them.
I'm currently using one of these for USB->S/PDIF. It also has a header for I2S output. And a grunt-grade onboard DAC (ES9023).

Oh..yes the ESS9023 is really a good chip. If i checked the boards available in Aliexpress or amazon (it is because of delivery and warranty...delivery from overseas here in AUT ...our customs duty office want to have approx 20 euro !)) i didnt find the CM3361A Pro version.
on the pcb which you are showing is written Pro version.

I guarantee those WIMA caps are faked, because I have a bunch of them. However, it will still work though.
Ha, I pulled all those big red Wimas out of my board as I don't care for the sound of the DAC chip anyway. How did you tell they're faked? Measurements?
Yes, most of them are smaller in value, just out of tolerance. Measured by bench top LCR meter.
Just reading over on ASR and found a poster there mentioned the SMSL x-USB. Its already boxed up and ready to go, has a nice feature of differential I2S output on an HDMI connector.

Forgot to mention, I believe this model is discontinued. You should make your decision quickly. There are others, but I still like SMSL. It's small and has OLED display which I think is useful.
