If we go back to basics, the true nature of the photon is still not agreed upon. A photon is a merely a model we use to help explain phenomena we observe. Also, you have to account for how photons require energy just to be emitted.
Could a photon possess a mass and also two elementary electric charges as some physicists conjecture?
Has a photon a shape and size as recent theories suggest? Could it really be 4 m long!
And, unhelpfully, no satisfactory explanation of the mechanism of absorption or the emission of photons exists.
It's a photonic jungle out there! 😱

You're not going to learn any physics the way you seem to be doing it. As I and others have said countless times anyone can offer up a theory, including me. But I'm not doing it for fame or money. There are plenty of corrupted physicists out there. You should go back to the source, like Feynman's Lectures. If you don't do that all you'll do is come up with these inane conjectures that I see. Don't waste your own time and mine on them.
The information I quoted comes from physicists! You're not going to learn any physics the way you seem to be doing it.
Don't waste your own time and mine on them.
For example:
Physicists study photon structure – CERN Courier
The new data imposes a challenge to theorists. At close quarters the photon looks as though it contains quarks and gluons as well as electromagnetic particles.
The HERA and LEP experiments have reached a new stage of precision in the measurement of photon structure.
Perhaps you're spending too much time immersed in your own conjectures.
I'll let you get on with it.
Maybe so. But at least I didn't attempt to go from nursery school to advanced physics in one fell swoop, like I see you doing. That's extremely silly. You have none of the tools to evaluate what you're seeing on CERN's site. It just makes you look stupid. Why don't you actually put in some work so you can evaluate stuff instead of just taking the experts word for everything. Like I said. I think Feynman is great about most things. He's not so much about the ZPF. You have absolutely none of the tools to do any of that kind of critical thinking. You're like a bee that floats from one sweet looking flower to the next.
I'll buzz off then! 😀
Without resorting to personal insult, which I regard as the province of one who has lost the argument!

I realize there is a danger of closing this thread down like the other. I hope that does not happen. There are a lot of individuals here that really don't know much on this topic. Unfortunately it doesn't take a lot of them to gang up on someone with more knowledge about the topic.
I see no problem with people less knowledgable interacting on forums. It only becomes a problem when individuals think they have more knowledge than they do and assert that fact. I've put out there a possible experiment to prove my conjecture. I'm not making idle assertions. I can be proven wrong. I think that should give me some credibility. I'll walk away from any assertion I've made if thorough experiments prove me wrong.

Not sure I am convinced by the ‘self-destructing electrical grid’ theory but I do love a good mystery of nature

On what do you base this?I think magnetic fields have been detected over and over.
At the levels involved, it wouldn't appear to be the compass-needle-spinning kind of effects.
Perception is not reliant on asking questions, so the meaning of your sentence is unclear. If you never ask the right questions then magnetic fields are never observed.
As a layman, it's difficult to grasp that the vehicle, the transducer, and probably the energy source itself could all be simultaneously acted upon in this way. It has that sort of perpetual motion smell to it.
The much more plausible hologram theory passes by with little attention.

I'd go join a physics forum if I weren't "silly", "stupid" and a "dunderhead"! 😀

You acted like I was avoiding answering questions when I was simply overwhelmed by the number of them. If you hadn't done that you would not have gotten on my bad side. But let me not stop you from your pity party. Party on!
Over and out. This time for real.

My statement above does come over as combatative, and I apologise for pushing your buttons.I note that your request elicited no response!
So I see we finally see eye to eye. 😀Dunderheads of the world - unite!
However, deference is still yours!
To be specific, has it even been proven that there is such a thing as a "photon"? I mean in terms of a single particle. Is it the double slit experiment?
The concept of radiation being quantised originated with studies on blackbody radiation (Planck) and the photoelectric effect (Einstein).
These phenomena could only be explained if radiation was being emitted (and absorbed) in discrete (individually separate and distinct) bundles of energy called quanta.
A discrete bundle, or quantum, of visible radiation i.e. light was given a special name - the photon.

Does this amount to 'proof'?These phenomena could only be explained if
It's all the proof that a numpty such as I requires! 😉
P.S. Add the Compton scattering of electrons which I've offered up to you, in another thread, as proof that a photon has momentum.
P.P.S. Individual photons are counted using a single-photon detector (SPD). Photon counting - Wikipedia
I'm afraid I can't arrange for you to hold a photon in your hand to provide the absolute proof of its existence!
