Watching the 'ladder decent' for the first step on the Moon,
who set-up the camera at a distance to film it ?
The very unrealistic footage of the LEM return launch (like a sparkly firework flash)
has been totally removed from the internet. Why ?

There was apparently a Westinghouse television camera deployed on a tray-like device attached to one leg of the module as Armstrong exited it.
I'm not a student of NASA missions by any stretch, but after five minutes thinking about it, I'd have thought that the USSR would have welcomed any chance to debunk that the USA landed on the moon, given their race to do so. As the USSR had missions going there at around the same time, I'd think they'd have the technical ability to monitor the US mission and know whether they'd achieved the landing, or not. People who are into this subject would know more that me about the capability of the USSR at the time, but this period seems to be when the USSR was at the peak of its technical prowess.

It would have been an extremely bad investment in time and effort if the entire space program including but limited to two trips to the moon without actually landing, not to mention danger, training, cost 💵💵 of Apollo program, loss of life, etc. Besides, too many people were involved - hundreds of thousands?? Who knows? - who would all rpt all have had to keep a secret all the way to the grave.
Impossible! Impossible!is it just me or are UK members even snarkier than US?
Those who would seek to deny the Moon landings malign the memory of those who perished during the Apollo programme.

Why would there be wind inside a movie set? Good question. But why is there wind on the moon? 😲
The answer is well known in the whole galaxy : the moon is one of the best windsurf spot. That's here btw you learn Windsurf needing water is a fake and of course a terristrian plot to avoid green voyagers to make wind surf in the Sahara ! That is actually why the blue of Earth protect us from massive IT Windsurfers !
I know it for sure having watched this NASA Lonely Planet colab turists movie they called Dune !
There is an atmo on Mars as there are flying drones... but despite the sand no windsurfers ?????!!!!! Must be the color of the sand that matters for windsurfing imo !
Nice diversion, diyiggy. 😎 Now for the science!
The air density on Mars is less that 2% of that on the Earth.
Consequently, the maximum wind speed on Mars of around 60 mph would be equivalent to a wind speed of around 8 mph on Earth.
In short, the Martian atmosphere is so thin that you would barely feel it buffeting your space suit!
Although, you would have to keep a watch out for those darned dust devils! 😉

what if the it surfers are very clever nut not bigger than a fly ? hey then they can windsurf on Mars !
Of course Kubrick filmed the moon landing but he was such a perfectionist that he insisted to film it on location.Did Kubrick film the moon landing....
Uh ! For the safe of the crew they avoided Ridley Scot AND Sigourney Waver (she eventually took another wave ! ... rigth in the teeth, hey !) .
It is a gravity question if few wind, then low mass works !
Fat aliens will be disappointed!

I think the moon landing was one of the great achievements of humankind.
The last LUNATIC question 😉
The moon "rover" is/was significantly larger than the LEM 'man hole'.
Where was it stored, and has anyone ever seen footage of it being assembled ?
