I am a student who is currently trying to beuild a ESL for my univeristy project. However, i m very stuck on the circuit..i m nto sure whether what number os CAP, diodes i should buy if i just want to build a mini version of esl that would work... i m kinda running out of time so please can anyone help.. this would mean alot to me. thanks🙂
why don't you scale things down...
build a small set of headphones. Go to the Headwize site where there are a number of fully docummented tried and true working design projects. Seems to me this would meet you needs in the simplest way possible. You can use a couple of tiny 70 volt line matching transformers to drive your phones (run them backwards)and they only cost a few dollars each. Now you can do all your construction at your desk or the kitchen table. The ultra light but strong plastic bags provided for fruit and vegtables at the grocery store are a great sourceof very thin strong free diaphragm material. With a scrap set of headphones to borrow the headband you should be able to build the entire project for only a hand full of dollars. A small tube of quality craft type PVA adhesive and you should be good to go. Hope this is helpful.

Based on your original post I assumed you were asking about how to design a voltage multiplier to generate the bias voltage you would apply to the diaphragm of an ESL. The calculator helps you design such a voltage multiplier.
It may be, though, that I made a faulty assumption and you're actually asking something else. You'll need a transformer between your amplifier and the stators of the ESL, and you'll also need a source of high voltage to apply the bias voltage to the diaphragm. Can you clarify which part of the circuit you're working on? Without being clear about what you already know it's a bit hard to be helpful.
