upgrading cross over

Dear all,

What is the most important when you upgrading cross over?

1. What type of Resistor is the best? Is higher Voltage is better?
2. What kind inductor to look? what is the best?

I am looking to upgrade my statement Speaker from Jim Holtz

Hi Tony,
Hasn't Jim used decent gear in the XO?

All passive crossover components have flaws such as series resistance. A well designed xover incorporates these flaws into the design. So for example, by exchanging coils with 'better' ones because they are wound with thicker wire, you may actually diminish the alignment of the xover. I would be careful in implementing your plan without reasonable measuring capabilities.

But I am an DIY Addict..... can not help to change here and there.....
