Hi All,
I am thinking of using a SM5482APT in a DF1700 socket.
According to the Datasheets, this will need some modifications – as there is slightly different in Pin assignment, etc.
For doing the mechanical changes, I am thinking of having a 28 PIN Adapter, like the one in the attached picture. However, I didn’t find any instruction or information about going this direction (replacing a DF1700 with SM5842) on the web.
Someone must have done this before… (??)
For now, I am using the ASE-Audiotuning DF1704 Adapter, which works indeed excellent!! However, I want to compare/exchange it with the SM5842APT, which should sound more “Analogue” (according to DD in http://www.dddac.de/ and others).
Any advice how shell I do this?
Many thanks!
IJ.
p.s. The following has been done by ASE-Audiotuning - for an old Teac VDRS 25 CD Player (replacing a SM5843). The principal should remain however the same.
