I'm running Maggie 3.6s from a Simaudio Moon P-5 and W-5 out of a MMF-5 turntable and mostly cds from my Sony SCD777ES. I have previously run the Sony rig through my Sunfire TGIII and biwired the Maggies from the 600W Sunfire amp. Now, I'm noticing less air and sensuality with the Moons as drivers. As the Sunfire middle is lower end, I'm wondering if there is a synergy between Sunfire and Maggies that suggests losing the Moon equipment rather than the Sunfire stuff. I'm aware that Bob Carver designed in a Gundry dip in the sunfire amp. Is that what I'm hearing?

I need to sell one or the other (Moons or Sunfires). Any suggestions? What about a separate DAC for the 777? I am blowing fuses on the Maggies with the Moon drivers, without gaining the depth I had with the Sunfire rig. I'm puzzled. My higher end equipment is getting less musicality out of the same fornt end and speakers. What's this about?
