I'm wondering about upgrading the PS110 power supply in my Marchand XM44 active crossover. The parts list is:
2 249 Ohm 1%, 1/4W, Metal Film
2 2.94K 1%, 1/4W, Metal Film
2 10.0K 1%, 1/4W, Metal Film
2 1000 uF, 50V Electrolytic
4 47 uF, 50V Electrolytic
14 1N4937 1A Hi Efficiency Diode
2 LM317 Regulator

Do you think I could get a performance boost by upgrading any of these parts? What would you suggest? I'm not too concerned about cost, but any changes I make will have to be physically similar, so I can use the same pcb and remount the board in the XM44.

Bump! Surely someone will help? This looks like a pretty standard ps. What can I improve?
I'm skeptical about replacing metal film resistors. What do you think?
Would Shottky diodes be an improvement?
Black Gates electrolytics would seem to be an obvious upgrade?

It's a bit difficult to comment without seeing the overall circuit diagram. Is this supply fed to each stage, or are there secondary regulators feeding each stage of the unit?

No secondary regulators. There's a diagram in the XM44 construction manual. (Note that I have a different power supply than the one in the photo).
