Ok, ive been slow with repair and mods, I have decided to finish with this extremely modified Ampeg VL502, I rack mounted this a while ago and added Mercury trannys plus extra switching. I made the clean channel more like a Fender and channel 2 now has a solo (controlled by the reverb foot switch). Sudo 3 channel amp now, each channel has its own master volume and presence controls, the switchable freq select is now a sweepable mid, I ditched the reverb circuit and added a tube FX loop with a mix pot. The distorted channel is modeled after a Krank Rev1 with all Mallory caps, The clean has all orange drop caps. I have some electro harmonix KT88s and 12AX7EH matched tubes on the way. And of course the bias is independently adjustable and has HV and output tube current meters on the front panel, You can put 6L6/KT66/5881/EL34/6550 or KT88s in this monster and adjust the Bias on the fly. Hope you guys like this, and if you dont :flipa

Nice work, looks like a killer project. I like to see things mapped out first.
You should give Google Sketchup a try. Very easy to use, faster and 3D compared to CAD.
(I know cad can 3D, but in Sketchup your drawing in 3D.)
I'm not trying to tell you what you should use, I just like it so much I can't say enough good things about it. Plus it's free.
I now use my Auto-Cad manual to stand on to reach cookies from the top cupboard.

Actually this was drawn in Auto cad, and I have Solidworks but this is a design I have been working on for the last 2 years and I dont want to invest the time to import and make 3D. This was done and working, but I just cant leave it alone. Thanks for the kind comments.

Looks like a lot of work went into the design and construction of your amp.. Rather professional - wish my own stuff looked half as good.. 😀
Since this is about a musical instrument amp I need to move it to the Instruments & Amps forum..

Thanks Kevin, I never noticed this area before? I was wondering why I dint see too much on Guitar amps? Learn something new every day

A lot of people have missed the fact that it is here, but it is slowly gaining traction, and your project should help as it is very professionally executed and you have provided good schematics for others to follow..
