I'm not sure what you mean with volume control of time mechanism?
Do you mean this potential meter VR101 ? please see page 8 pdf of the service manual.
Do you have an idea how to solve this problem?
Thank you for your help
hi
see page 10 to position sensor volume ... adjustment very difficult and Sensitive...
You did not open the Volume sensor screws. you must suction solder only
for open main board .
thanks

Yes, I unscrewed the sensor of the mechanical part, so no soldering. I thought just screw it back on is more easy (not so good idea I understand). I guess now I need to see how to get it back, any idea how to do this? I guess try and test or is their a easy way?
Thanks for your help
Thanks for your help
This part I unscrewed yes, Alpine 18T55678W01 Volume, Slide Rs32111 10K Ohm
What should I do now? Wish to fix this.....

Good luck.
Good luck.
VR101, sliding potentionmeter (you call it volume meter) I messure 5 volt on 3rd pin, the middle pin 2nd remains 5 volt, even if I move it up or down. And pin 3 remains 0 volt.
pin 3 is connected to IC101 pin 31 => 5 volt
pin 2 is connected to ic101 in 36 => according to manual 1,5 volt but measuring 5 volt
pin 1 is connected to GND
SO I assume VR101 is broken right?

hi
ok vr101 is position sensor volume . pin Middle to chip 501 to pin47(LPS) ...look page 21 on service manual chm-s620 if Is similar 637 (I don't no) ...
If the voltage on the volume to 0 transition volume does not. There is a risk of fracture volume.
Volume ohm test try to get out of the circuit.
thanks

This is the correct service manual cha s634 https://www.scribd.com/doc/248791861/ALpine-CHA-S634-Service-manual
(not the same as chm620)
I have taken out the position sensor, and its broken for sure! ohm test done, but no good. I have ordered new one.. Hope I do not need more..
see page 14 and 20
But its connected to ic 101
pin 3 is connected to IC101 pin 31 => 5 volt
pin 2 is connected to ic101 in 36 => according to manual 1,5 volt but measuring 5 volt
pin 1 is connected to GND => 0 volt

hi
thank you for link ... its ok.You all know the route.
I hope problem completely solved.
Good luck
thanks.

Need to wait for position sensor before I can check again.
But wondering if IC104 is still good for optic out. Pin 19 according to manual 1,6 volt and pin 22 1,2 volt. But I think this is with no mp3 decoder?
Maybe ic 102 pin 4 better? Dout i'm not sure

I think you better Read datasheet ic102 (TC94A14FA) for pin 4 ...
This pin may be for Special output optic...((pin4 Dout = digital out))
It is near to the serial output for D/A.
And most likely the same as you think ...

hi
pin 4 on ic 102 sure is ok ... I read datasheet.
dis out put is TC-1201 format = Eiaj = Spdif
read this link TOSLINK - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
see to page 3 on data sheet TC49A14fa
pin4 = TC1201 TC94A14FA Datasheet(PDF) - Toshiba Semiconductor
thanks.

Thank you for looking into it. Now I wait for parts to place back in and I check and hopefully it worksout well.
Enamelled wire Thin... is good . better use flux oil solder and silver solder.
if you have not . not problem you can use normal solder .

allright, have all components in the house.
I have placed the new slide position sensor, but still comes up with message disck check. But he doesn;t search for the disk, because I do not see parts moving.
How do I align the new slide position sensor? or maybe something else i must do ??

Hello
If your gear Setting out mechanics.
Time Reset gear and sensor is required. That it is very difficult.
Should try and correct the error.
Thank you.

Maybe I can place the gear on cd 1.....The position sensor should be 1,5 volt right?
I notice I can adjust the sensor with a screw perhaps is that the solution ?

Seems that I need this module Dt Mech Servo Monitor. THis is for adjusting the LPS, position sensor.
I saw that this module is pretty expensive, any idea how to solve this mater without this module?
Maybe this is an idea, what if I place an extra potentiometre together with this position sensor, and just keep on turning until I notice its starting to work? Then I know what the correction is. Do you think this would work?

I have an other service manual of the cha1214 downloaded, surprices I saw how to reset when pcob was taken of and replaced back, Please see page 25 pdf (or page 17).https://www.scribd.com/doc/250200725/ALpine-cha-1214
But how to do this with our CHA S634??? Perhaps an idea??
