uPD6376 any good?

This NEC DAC is in a musical instrument. According to the data sheet it is a voltage-output 16-bit stereo DAC with I2S input. Googling around I found that it was also used in portable CD players. I wonder if it is better or worse than the TDA1543 (apart from being voltage output). Thanks
