Hi friends, Just posting for assistance with this one, because I'm vision impaired, and am not familiar with tools, in particular screw-driver shapes and sizes.
I have a Technics SL-BD20D, and have successfully bought a replacement needle. As I understand it from the manual, you unscrew the screw in the cartridge, the needle pops out, you place the new one in, then screw it up tight again?
I've tried several different screw drivers, (many of the "I" shape), and some philips ones), but they are not doing anything. I'm definitely using the wrong screw driver.
So my question is, can somebody please tell me what type of screw-driver I need, and what size?
Many thanks.
Mark

Hi,
http://www.vinylengine.com/library_model.php?make=Technics&selected_model=SL-BD20D
You are describing fitting a new P-mount cartridge, not a new stylus.
The stylus should simply come off without the screw being undone.
It comes out by pulling it down and slightly backwards.
🙂/sreten.

Thanx a billion sreten, yep, very simple, but that's all it was. Nothing to do with unscrewing the bold at all, as stated in the manual. I just pulled mine down and back, as you said, and it popped off..... Why do they overlook these simple things in operation manuals?
