Hi.
I have a DAC board from a Tact 2.0 and i would like to use it with a player with coax spdif out.

There is no info about this board and all I know about it is that you can see in the pictures and that it is a digital to analog out which usually sits in a Tact 2.0.
The altera circuit appears to be a programmable but i know nothing about it. Could i skip that Altera and do something so that a coaxial spdif signal could come to that dac circuit?
The 3310 circuit is a digital volume, I think

If you look up the data sheet for the Altera part number, probably you will find it is a CPLD or FPGA. In other words, its probably a programmed chip.

If you get the part number from the dac chip and download its data sheet, you can find out what digital audio protocol(s) it can be compatible with. Also, you can find out if it is programable.

Also, you may need to figure out how the dac chip is being clocked. Usually, there is clock module or two nearby. Sometimes only a crystal. Sometimes the clocking is generated more distantly.

Once you figure it the digital input protocol needs, and where the digital inputs come from now, you might be able to find a way to interrupt those signals and inject your own. However, first you might need to add some new circuitry to convert SPDIF to a protocol the dac chip can understand.

Probably good to ask what test equipment you have on hand, a DVM, scope, logic analyzer, etc.?
