thanks for the info. I searched quite a few tube supplier web-sites and could not locate what brand this was....
What manufactures make this valve with this case? A friend called me who is CCCP is Union of Soviet Socialist Republics...
But the question isn't the manufacture, is if this is good or isn't good.
Thanks,
Felipe Navarro

It's probably a Sovtek. I used the Sovtek 6SN7 in a recent project as a cathode follower driver. Works just great: the characteristic seems quite close to the plate characteristics of the RCA 6SN7 (measured gain and Q point were quite close to the design nominal values) the Sovtek includes grid radiators that other brands don't include, the tube isn't at all microphonic in that sharp rapping on the envelope didn't cause any disturbances when o'scoping the output. A lot of US produced 6SN7s seem to be horribly microphonic.
No complaints here. 😎
In this photo you can see 2 of mine 3 CCCP colection... I will mount a SRPP pre-amp with these tubes. 🙂

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

See the comments from a costurmer of the site:
Here's a note from a customer:
"The re-tube is complete. This has been the most cost effective upgrade imaginable. Highly recommended to anyone with an older VK-60 with age and a mix of tubes. The 6C33's from BAT are expensive and can be gotten from other places for less. Matching not important with the vk-60, so can save a bit by shopping. The tubes all come from same plant in Russia. The 6SN7's from Upscale are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!"

"CCCP" is just the Russian language equivalent of "USSR", and it would mean that it was made in the USSR, like "Japan" on something means it was made in Japan.
Seeing something made in USSR was extremely rare in the USA during the cold war.

🙂
A friend called me this tubes are builded by Sovtek.
Thanks.
Look like Ulianov tubes...
I have some 6SN7 Russians, made by Ulianov, which look to be of very similar if not identical to the ones you have....
I didnt have the boxes for them as they came from a bulk pack, from a vendor on Ebay Cheap and cheerful ...
I have several and all perform very well, No complaints so far. No horrible noises, michrophonics or hum. The matching of both sections in a couple isnt perfect, but what the hell--Good enough!
They have been used in various SRPP and Mu stage amps as well as drivers for 6C33 tubes. They do like to have around 7-8mA anode current to perform well, when in SRPP....

Sovtek is a generic name used by the US distributor for tubes made in Russia.
