UN-wanted subscription

My home mailbox has been overloaded with garbage forever. No I don’t want to switch auto insurance companies. No I’m not interested in ANY extended warranty on anything. And no, I’m not interested in a cash offer (for about 60% what I paid) for 20 acres of land that I intend to build on eventually. It’s not for sale.
Yepper!
Last week I got a postcard from a realtor saying they'd buy my home for 100K cash over what I deem it to be worth.
I'm constantly getting asked if I want to sell my home, they even come knocking on my door asking, handing out their card (which I refuse).
I told the one guy "see this?"... and I knocked on the brick doorway.... "This house is going to be my tomb, they're gonna find me dead in this house because I ain't moving!"
The look on his face was precious.

Who gave browsers permission to fill my screen?? I resolutely set Home Page to "about:blank"

What is this new thing on Win10, Edge? It took my blank Home Page setting ok, but would NOT stop crapping my New Tab. The few instructions online did not work. I finally found an Edge extension which does what I SHOULD be able to do in a NotePad (if I knew what file, if it was plaintext instead of MS gibberish).

Yes, MS will be poorer without me clicking on those fashion ads and celebrity clickbait. My heart bleeds for them.

I refuse to use Edge.
Only Firefox these days.

I bet the magazine website was hacked.
I had the same problem after changing internet providers when they did a credit check.
It was the credit checking agency that had been hacked and it took two long goes to get rid of the unwanted direct debit.
A few weeks later it was national news that they had been hacked.
I did get my money back.
