The power output of these modules is as follows.

110 watts RMS continuous sine wave rated into 8 Ohms
180 watts RMS continuous sine wave rated into 4 Ohms
With a +-50 volt DC Rail
The transformer requirements are as follows.
Single channel 300VA with 35vac + 35vac secondary windings
Dual channel 625VA with 35vac + 35vac secondary windings

The Saint,

for that price, how does it compare with say a dual chipamp of LM3886 or a single LM4780 which gives similar power but much cheaper.

I would expect different sound reproduction between the two, how different, I don't know. If you know can you tell us.

cheers.

Hi ttan98

That's a very good question.
All I can say is that the sound quality from these modules is very high end.
The PCB that its made on is very high quality 3 ounce copper
with Gold emersion plating and manufactured in the USA.
Not some cheap Chinese PCB that a lot of kits are supplied with
It's a premium product.
I don't think I had ever released a module yet that did not compare well, if not exceed the sound quailty of anything that is out there.
Also these modules are fully assembled and tested, not a unassembled kit.
:)

Chipamp is so simple you connect them(components) by point to point wiring this way gives the connectivity of the chipamp the same performance if not better than the PCB you are using.

I believe the key to the perfomance of your amp is in the circuitry(design and layout) and possibly the SMD you are using.

I don't think it will lose out to chipamp in terms of sound quality, I suspect/guess it is better how much better it is hard to tell again without a direct one-to-one comparison.

I hope you the best, there are lot of competitors out there. cheers.

Hi Pinkmouse

A bummer I know:bawling:

I am looking at getting these modules produced in the USA
assemble house which should help to drop the price.
The modules are 60 VOLT tolerent however 8 ohm loads would be mandatory.
At this time I am handle assembling them.
What would be a price you would be happy to pay for these modules?
Let me know and I will do a DIYaudio introductory offer for
members only.
