hi everybody! i just got my basic t-amp last week. after 50 hours or so, of break in, they sounded okay, but i expected more from all the rave reviews. my dad, an audiophile told me to build my own since i didnt like them. problem was, i had no clue at all how to build an amp. seeing as how many of you have experience with this, i thought i'd ask you. my dad has given me 150+dollars to work with. i have the tools, yet none of the parts. except the case, which i made last year. i plan on using one of the best tripath chips available.and would like it to be rca or minijack in.
i would appreciate any help. thanks.

What speakers?
What speakers are you using?
$150 isn't exactly the kind of budget where you can say "ultimate".
I bought a kit from 41hz.com. It was fairly easy for me, but I have some experience with surface mount soldering. I haven't finished the enclosure or power supply yet, but the reviews sound like it should be a good amp.

Which one would that be?
Yep - ulitmate is going to depend on your speakers and your taste in music.
What are your speakers and how much power do you think you need? Which chip are you thinking of?

I received amp6BASIC from 41Hz.com. Will start this weekend. I am a newbie with minimal soldering experience, I am not sure "ultimate" but it should sound good...
I also ordered amp3, just in case I feel brave..., both cost less than $70, yes both amp3+am6BASIC!
