The Aporia. Supposed to do 35Hz to 35KHz. One driver. 110Kg each!
Who will be the first to clone this?

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

Having heard the Manger, i can't get very excited about this horn. Very elegant executing thou, althou the similar topology Yamamura, i'd guess, might work better. And the less elegant, but over the top Klien horn.

Good catch on the Yamamura, Dave!
Nice looking BLH, HM!
Don't think I've ever hear the Manger, have only read about them.
Seems that HM likes them, Dave doesn't. Any thoughts on why or what for?

These seem to divide people up in a pretty black & white manner. I find them very artificial sounding and with constrained dynamics.

I heard a pair a year or so back. Quite a pleasent sound, rather 'hifi'; they seemed to give the impression of being detailed, but when you started listening closely it all seemed a bit superficial to me, and dynamics, as Dave said, weren't anything to write home about. Not to my taste, although I can understand why some people like them. YMMV as ever.
Hello,
i think the Manger is a nice driver for near field, up
to 2 m max. and an educated ear and classic lovers,
Today if i see the sound performance between
Basstuba and Kornett, the cornet wins
in Bass, in soundstage, size, if you stand up by listening,
and $$$

Yes, I'd say you're probably right about them suiting nearfield listening & (lighter) classical Horst. Give them anything more demanding, or ask them some serious questions though & things start to look a little bleak. To each their own.
very interesting looking phase plug on The Aporia. I would assume it improves off axis frequency response.

It also makes it go faster.

Turbo, baby! (thanks to d 2 g)
From the website:
"The flat cone of the Manger driver can yield limited dispersion, so we designed a removable diffusor that enhances performance in most listening room environments. Similar techniques were used in classic JBL and Siemens professional gear."
Or air conditioning vents.... 😛
