Patriz,

All the information you'd possibly need is already in my post, I even mention the type of mini-melf resistor used. So what else do you want me to comment on? I suggest you visit the Hypex website and read up on how the front-end of the UcD modules is constructed, as the schematic you posted has no relevance here.

Best regards,

Stupid me was all there.
Thank you

6.1 version

I have seen that there are several modifications in the caps number in the new 6.1 version. I have attached a photo of both modules: old and new.

I suppose that, in this case, there are not applicable the mods listed above.

Some suggestion?

I cannot post to the split thread (why is this?) but I do have a comment.
- optional a soon-to-be-released extra 12V full discrete regulater with extreem good specs.
- and we will use the LM4562...we love this op amp...
since you are using the LM4562 (great news) then it seems to me that you should give it 15V since it has much better PSRR with 15V than with 12V on the positive rail. Or are you moving the CRD to the positive side for both UcD180 and UcD400?

I have the same problem in posting to the Marketplace thread. Did something get broken with the split?

Anyway, another question for Jan-Peter: will the new regulator fit within the same height as the old one, or will the modules need to be further apart?

Same, I can't reply in the marketplace thread.

It seems like the only major difference between the mods accumulated in this (and related) threads are the changes to the modulator daughterboard. My questions:
- Do the changes to the modulator make a major difference?
- For those of us with investments in tweaked UCD's, would it be possible just to purchase a new modulator daughterboard?

Dean

BWRX, I was notified of your post to the split thread but it does not show there and neiither in the complete list of your posts, did you delete it?

I get the same panel that t. is getting. Maybe only moderators can post there?

Hi guyv.

Netlist split the thread and moved that portion of it here: http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=98685

The webmaster also gave us an answer. Currently, those subforums are setup so that only the thread starter (or a moderator/admin) may post in the thread. In the case of the UCD thread only Jan-Peter may post in it. The webmaster is working hard to get the forum up to speed, so please be patient. The best place to look for information regarding updates to the UCD modules is the Hypex website, but Jan-Peter may also decide to announce updates here too. I'm sure he's a busy man too, so bear with them as well 😉

We will move the CRD to the correct side. It's not true that the PSRR of LM4562 is better at 15V, this must be a wrong measurement of National.... 😉

The new module will have exaclty the same size, fully interchangable with the UcD400ST/UcD400AD.

No, there are much mroe changes as only upgrading the modualtor PCB. We will not sell the modualtor PCB as a seperate item....I am sorry... 😉

UCD daughter baord schematic

Hi All,

does anyone know if there is a schematic availible for the daughter board. The epoxy covered board with all the discrete transistors for the comparator front end.

I would love to design a drop in that used good quality film caps and audio grade resistors. From what I can tell, it uses ceramics and surface mount resistors of ordinary quality.

Thanks

Portland Mic
