Hello again!

A question about how accurate HornResp is.
...
It is trustworthy, but your expectations may need alignment for the single-parameter models that these are. Note also that the result is sound Power not sound Pressure.

As GM replied, File->Export->Hornresp Record and post for better help.

For the "packaging exercise" it may be useful for you to look into Brian Steele's folding spreadsheets.

Hornresp is very accurate. However it does not account for driver-inherent response deviations and for deviations from the idealized round shaped enclosure/horn model with infinitely rigid walls.

I made a 6th order parallel bandpass and compared simulation with actual measurements here (scroll down for response graphs):

No, I can understand that. Some response variables are or can be linked to the driver itself.

It strikes me that with a TQWT cabinet, for example, quite a bit happens in terms of output in the middle. It seems to me that this output should actually be much more damped because of the dampening material in the cabinet.
So this puzzles me a little bit.

Thanks for the link 👍🏻 I shall look into it.

Oh, other question. I have to wait a day or so to quote your/a reaction. Is this normal on this forum?

Uhmm… how is Sound Power different then. SPL? I want to know what the cabinet is going to do output/spl-wise relative to the rest of the full range driver to match the output of the cabinet to the output of the driver.
So how should I see this?

For now, I'm using a Mac in combination with Wine for Hornresp. I can't really save things nicely either. Also, I use my iPhone for this forum and not my Mac. In a few days I will have a Windows at my disposal. It will probably be easier for me to share something then.

Thanks!🙏🏻

Anyone an idea how to put this element (in red circle) in Hornresp? I’m not sure how too do this.

I guess you have to wait for another posting and only then you can quote an entire message.
This was introduced to avoid people (unnecessarily) quoting entire messages just below the message itself and by doing so creating wasted data traffic.
Try highlighting the relevant parts of a message and select "quote" from the forum's context menu.

This is as succinct as anything.

Work on the bottom and smoothing-out the ringing with your geometry changes, don't obsess over the top. Both the bottom (room/boundaries) and the top (baffle width/diffraction) will be different anyway. You are working on one (important) piece of a puzzle of sewing responses together. Your job is to take a highly resonant system and make it as smooth as it can be. Or choose a different topology that's smoother, if that's the problem you're having.
