such an approach isn't to find often, but looks interesting - go to

Are there projects in this kind ?
Thanks for comments.

Big drivers, significant centre-to-centte, a whole lot of combing.
I would suggest that more on a smaller platform would be more “even”. A dodecahedron (12 pentagons) or an icosahedron (20 trianglkes) would be preferable.

It depends on the goal. The speaker shown will have a smooth omni-directional response up to about 2 kHz and then transition to a repeating directivity pattern with lobes in the response above 2 kHz or so based on the cone size and spacing. It could make for a fun effect. Designing a speaker with a really uniform omni-directional dispersion pattern that is full range into the high frequencies is a challenge. Search this forum for "How to build a spherical speaker?" and "Omni Directional Speakers" to see the efforts of myself and others. There are several commercially available speakers that are omni-directional horizontally. The Beo-90 has a nice white paper that describes the experience of listening to speakers with various radiation patterns, wide, narrow, omni. The mass market HomPod 2, omni-directional speaker, from Apple looks pretty good and very inexpensive for what you get. It uses a ring of folded tweeter horns to get 360 degree dispersion horizontally.
