Hey, all...
I have two 8-inch subwoofers in the rear corners of my hatchback. Like this (in green):

I'm currently running them 2-ohm mono, but I have plenty of channels and power to run them 4-ohm stereo.
Here's my question: Given their respective distances from the driver's seat, would there be a sound-quality advantage to running them stereo--not necessarily for left/right separation (although I'm open to hearing an argument for that), but more for time-alignment and level matching to the driver's position?
Thanks for your thoughts!

If they're subwoofers, I don't see any advantage.
As for separation, especially as a subwoofer, it will make no difference. Separation is very limited with speakers, in general. People look at the separation numbers for an amp (or any of the electronics) and think that means something. It means very little, especially in a car. If you play a tone from only a left speaker in a car (or anywhere you're using speakers) at 75dB, what do you think the level will be at your right ear? It's surely not the 100dB+ difference that you'll see in the specs of the electronics. It might be 6dB. For that separation level (of the electronics), you'd have to be using a pair of sealed headphones (or possibly with open headphones at a low volume level).

Cutoff on the low-end by a crossover or simply limited by the speaker and enclosure?
60Hz isn't really sub but the output is a slope and you have cabin gain so maybe it can get into the sub range.
If you were looking for a last 1/10dB at the point of the microphone and the speakers were in opposite corners of the vehicle, time alignment may make some difference. It would cost nothing to try it of the enclosures are separate.

Thanks, Blink. I'm trying to get around the subsonic filter on my Audio Control EQL that feeds the input to the entire system. I was considering running that <60 subwoofer off the head unit low-level output, but it would 'complicate' time-alignment with all the other speakers.
I've tinkered with time-aligning subs before and I've never had astounding results either way--maybe some marginal improvement in phase alignment. But I wondered at the time whether it was all in my head. lol
