Two of the same drivers - VERY different Fs...

Of Wintergreen, I know not?

Is this a treatment for use on surrounds/spider?

The surround is a coated fabric which I suspect is contributing to their unwillingness loosen up. I'm reminded of the jeans I wore as a kid which were just slightly softer than cardboard...

I've used it with some success on these and some types of foam. In my locale, it's a controlled substance nowadays, so have to buy it from a pharmacy.

Yes, very common for vintage drivers, I've had some from the '40s that were completely locked up. Still got a 12" out of a '39 RCA console that only outputs a bit of HF.

LOL! 🙂 I remember! Did all sorts of things to loosen them up so we could shrink fit them to our bodies to get that perfect 'peg' leg fit!

Get with your friend and test all 4 drivers. From the 4 speakers your friend get a pair and you get a pair. You may need to swap to get the closest matching pairs.

Thanks DT

We have already discussed that as a possibility!!!

But, its going to take a while to get sorted as he has not begun to break in his.

And this is showing me it takes some time!

However, he built an enclosure based on the Tannoy enclosure already, so its kin of a mute point for him...
